I attended a workshop organised by Unai Pascual of the Basque Center for Climate Change (BC3) and Cambridge University on "Merging the ecosystem services framework and the sustainability paradigm towards a green economy".

Unai invited 11 scientists, including Bill Adams, Georgina Mace and Dolf de Groot, for an invigorating discussion about ecosystem service frameworks, sustainability and planetary limits, and the emerging green economy. I was particularly interested in our reflections on the limitations of the ES framework as a policy and decision-making tool.
